Conspiracy

Is it me or are paper towel sheets getting larger. I'm talking about the ones that come rolled up in a cylinder and have little slits which allow you to tear it perfectly. It seams to me that as the years pass by the slits are further and further apart. Smart move by the paper towel companies because that way if you tear by the slits like most people do you will have finished the roll faster because you are taking larger quantities, and you will go out to buy some more. Same deal with cars. I have noticed that all these new cars need more maintenance. For example, a Toyota built around 1998 is an excellent car; they almost never have problems. It seems that these modern cars have cheaper parts which make them get replaced more often. In a way that can relate to the plot of V for Vendetta. The same people that caused the problem provide the solution to make money. It makes me angry when my family spends more money on replacement parts for our air conditioning system than the system itself.

Enemies

"Brother and sisters,........... and friends....... and I see some enemies. In fact I think we would be fooling ourselves if we had an audience this large and didn't realize that we had some enemies present." ---- Malcolm X

The truth is that enemies are everywhere whether you know it or not because some you probably haven't met yet, and possibly never will. I believe there is a balance of good and evil and no matter who you are and what you stand for there is a person who stands for the exact opposite. There is a division between morals and intelligence. Not all highly intelligent people believe the same thing. Martin Luther King Jr. argues that you should love your enemy so that you understand them, but San-tzu argues that you should love your enemy and then strike them down.

"Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer." ---- San-tzu

I believe it is essential to have enemies because only they will point out your flaws. There are places in other countries which are filled with poisons and pesticides. The children that are born there have no problem with the environment because their bodies adapt, but if anyone else goes there, they will most likely get very sick and possibly die. If you live without enemies your whole life, as soon as you get one you won't know how to defend yourself. If your the type of person who believes in revenge then remember this quote because its probably the best form.

“Always forgive your enemies. Nothing annoys them more.” ---- Oscar Wilde

The Weston Bear

Between April 18 and April 19 a black bear was spotted numerous times in Weston. The bear was not a full grown bear, but a medium/small size bear. People who saw the bear say it looked like it weighed about 180 pounds. The bear was spotted around South Post Road both times. What are the odds that a black bear would be spotted in Weston? I barely ever hear about bears in Florida. I think it is safe to assume that if any, there are not many more bears in Weston, thus this bear will be known as The Weston Bear. The Weston Bear is not very popular with Weston Officials though. The commission stated "We want to make sure bears move on and are not attracted to stay in these neighborhoods". Poor Weston Bear.

Teacher wages

I constantly hear teachers rant about their wages. Teaching isn't an easy job if you're actually doing your job well. Should teacher wages go up? Honestly, I think teachers should not get paid much more if any than they already do. Perhaps receive more teaching materials, yes, but wages shouldn't increase. What will happen when being a teacher is considered a high paying job and people begin to teach for the money? The idiot deciding whether to work at Mcdonalds or pursue a career in education might choose to be a teacher because he/she realizes that teachers make a lot of money. Not everyone teaches for the money. There are plenty of teachers who teach to pass off their wisdom to young minds. There are many teachers who sacrifice their time and money to try to make a difference in the future. So, should wages be raised? The real question is whther you would like more or less dedicated teachers.

A week in Chicago

I just came back from a trip to Chicago, and the thing I enjoyed most about Chicago is probably not what most people would expect. During my six day stay at Chicago I recieved over thirty recomendations on what to do for fun. These included going to museums, eating at restaurants, walking around the city, and many more. The museums were pretty boring, and even though I did walk around the city and eat a lot, I still did not consider it "fun". The funnest thing I did in Chicago was actually play in the snow. It was the first time I touched snow, so it was pretty amazing. I probably looked like an idiot running in the snow, and rolling, but I didn't care. If anyone is going to Chicago for a visit, I suggest going while it snows because it might be the best thing you find in the city. No offense Chicago.
